What happened in 2022 and what I expect for 2023

It’s new years eve and — as always — I finish some things and have some plans for next year.

Review of 2022

The Russo-Ukrainian war shaped 2022 for me. Worries about an atomic war in proximity to Germany first crossed my mind. Oil was sold out for a while, and a lot of food became way more expensive. COVID-19 is still a thing 🙁

2022 was pretty bad, but there was also good news:

Breakthroughs in Energy production

Energy production became an even hotter topic in Germany when the Russo-Ukrainian war started. Germany depends a lot on Russian gas for heating. For Germany, there are only two options to go to at the moment: Solar and wind energy. We don’t want coal, gas, and oil due to climate change. We cannot expand energy generation by water. Uranium would also have to be imported from Russia and the waste problem is not solved. Geothermics seems not to be an option in most of Germany (although heat pumps are for sure…
